From the side of an object a concept can be positive or negative:positive concept signifies one whose object is some entity (v.g life, light, etc); a negative concept signifies one whose object is the absence/privation of an entity. Now since nothingness cant be understood in itself, a negative idea doesnt represent nothingness itself (as per Hegel’s thought), but implies 2 things: 1. an entity, 2. negation of that entity. Hence the concept of death presents life as negated;
