On Eternal Generation

jn 1:14, the generation is intellectual not carnal. Since God loves himself and understands himself it would be necessary that God be in himself as the thing understood in the one understanding, the thing understood is a certain word of the intellect like how we reveal by an exterior word what we understand in our intellect. Therefore we posit a word in God, this Word is also called a conception because What is contained in the intellect, as an interior word, is also said to be a conception of the intellect. When the intellect understands itself the word conceived is related to the one understanding like offspring to father, hence its necessary that the Word must be compared to God (the Father). In God to be and to understand are the same, therefore the Word is God. The Son being consubstantial with the father excludes the Father and the Son according to intellectual generation in the way that a word is conceived in our mind: as a thing coming to the intellect as an accident and not existing from its essence. The Son cannot differ from the Father in time, species or nature because things that are not different in essence, there can be no difference in the mentioned aspects.
